چکیده
Steel large-megawatts wind turbines have the light-damping and long-period properties, resulting in adverse vibrations under loads. In this paper, a novel tuned mass damper refitted via inner platform (IP-TMD) is proposed to control excessive vibration of steel turbine tower (WTT). Firstly, dynamic equation WTT controlled by IP-TMD system established according principle virtual work, its coefficient frequency ratio at corresponding fixed points are deduced. Then, optimal stiffness damping coefficients obtained optimization. Furthermore, numerical simulation research employed analyze frequency-response curves resonance mitigation effect harmonic excitation. Finally, efficiency calculated using Wilson-θ method loadings; results indicated that able reduce response over 45% compared with uncontrolled cases.

Vibration Control of a Power Transmission Tower with Pounding Tuned Mass Damper under Multi-Component Seismic Excitations
In this paper, the two-dimensional vibration controls of a power transmission tower with a pounding tuned mass damper (PTMD) under multi-component seismic excitations are analyzed. A three-dimensional finite element model of a practical power transmission tower is established in ABAQUS (Dassasult Simulia Company, Providence, RI, USA). The TMD (tuned mass damper) and PTMD are simulated by the fi...

As wind power continues its rapid growth worldwide, Offshore Wind Turbines (OWTs) are likely to comprise a significant portion of the total production of wind energy. These kinds of wind turbines cause of their placement environment should resist in great stormy conditions, which cause fatigue failures. Fatigue loads are one of the main failure reasons in offshore structures. One of the best wa...
متن کاملWind Turbine Tower Resonance
Wind turbine towers are large structures designed to withstand the unique loading conditions imposed on them by the turbine’s nacelle and dynamic forces from the rotating blades. Observations and noise measurements of a particular wind turbine showed high noise levels at approximately 48 Hz, which could not be explained from the usual known potential noise sources. Correlated far field noise me...

The increased size and flexibility of modern multi-Megawatt wind turbines has resulted in the dynamic behaviour of these structures becoming an important design consideration. The aim of this paper is to study the variation in natural frequency of wind turbine blades due to centrifugal stiffening and the potential use of semi-active tuned mass dampers (STMDs) in reducing vibrations in the flapw...
متن کاملDynamic behaviour of composite mass damper for control of wind-excited vibration
The aim of this paper is to study the effectiveness of the passive, active and semiactive versions of the composite tuned mass damper systems to reduce vibrations of building structures exposed to strong winds. The LQR method is used to determine the active and semi-active control forces. Several remarks concerning the effectiveness of considering dampers are formulated on the basis of extensiv...
